Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spiky blonde hair and a pumped up personality reveals easy methods to master and removes intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in some of New York's top eateries, studied the Italian food and culture and has participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to improve living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as mentors and speakers. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion of sharing her cooking skills with other people.
